Planning a solar roof

Involve us early in the planning process – when choosing the size of the panel park, we will find the optimal solution considering the needs and opportunities of the existing or future household. The average household could consider a panel park of at least 10 kW. If your house is still under planning, we recommend sending the 3D BIM objects of our solar roofs to your architect.

Input information needed to make a decision

  • Project with roof dimensions in case of new builds.

  • In the case of an existing house, a photo of the roof where the panels are planned to be installed.

  • Overview of current electricity bills. Achievable energy label target for a new house.

  • Heating solution information.

  • Do you already have or are planning to buy an electric car?

Joining the grid operator

In the case of a new house, we recommend solving the installation of Solarstone solar panels at the pre-design level and processing the grid-connection agreement at the same time as the general network agreement. As a rule, it is possible to install a panel park according to the size of the main fuse in the house, which can be checked from the electrical panel.

  • With a 3x25A main fuse, it is possible to build a system of up to 15 kW.

  • With a 3x16A main fuse, it is possible to build a system of up to 10 kW.

In the case of an apartment association, it must be taken into account that the consent of the members of the association is required. When installing roofing material, including integrated panels, a construction notice must be submitted to the local government.

Following the connection request, the network operator submits a connection offer, which includes the cost of replacing the electricity meter. Our price offer does not include this. The connection price may vary depending on the current stage of completion of the object. Each country may have its own requirements and procedures in this regard.

Deployment of the solar plant

After concluding the grid-connection agreement, the Solarstone installation team will install the integrated solar panels and will configure the inverter. We help with the implementation drawing of the electrical installation, the configuration protocol and, in the case of larger installations, the conformity audit, which is a prerequisite for concluding a network contract. A two-way electricity meter may then installed which makes it possible to distinguish between the quantities of self-produced and purchased electricity.

Electricity sales and consumption

Depending on your country, you may or may not be able to sell the produced solar energy back to the grid. The payback period of the investment is shortened by a well-thought-out consumption model – it is worth consuming self-produced electricity locally in the sunniest weather, which reduces the need to buy from an expensive electricity company.
